Our upholsterers are apprenticed trained and can carry out any type of upholstery. This may include using hair or natural fibre as stuffing, before re-covering and finishing with braiding or studding.
To avoid stripping and retain the patina on earlier antique furniture, we use old techniques and materials. This may include waxing or oiling, to enhance the texture and beauty of the natural wood.
Wherever possible we repair any damage by gluing and so ensuring the authenticity of the piece. Dependent on customer choice, we can use modern adhesives or animal glues, reminiscent of the period when the furniture was made.
We offer a desk top leather replacement service. This includes a range of colours and different tooling choices, all of which are of excellent quality.
In most instances, we can usually find an exact match of your missing or broken items of brassware. Very rare pieces can be individually re-forged.
Heat and water resistant finishes can be arranged on request and where required. This finish is usually the choice, for modern fittings or furnishings.
Wherever possible, we will repair scratches, remove white heat, water marks and burns without completely stripping the damaged area.
